I became a CrossFit junkie about a year ago after I was introduced to CrossFitSix. A self-professed nerd who spent most of my childhood with my nose buried in a book or making clothes for my Cabbage Patch Kids, I wasn’t exactly what you would call athletic (unless you count my love affair with roller skating). I discovered my passion for exercise and fitness in my mid 20’s and I’ve never looked back.
Why do I love CrossFit? Because it’s just plain AWESOME. I love the excitement of finding out what the day’s WOD will be and groaning when it’s something that I know will kick my butt. I love that CrossFit constantly pushes me out of my comfort zone and forces me to challenge myself. I love finding out I’m capable of lifting more than I thought I could and feeling myself get stronger and more fit. I love the combination of exhaustion and exhilaration I feel after completing a WOD. I even love Helmstetter’s annoying sarcastic voice in the back of my head booming at me “Work on your weakness” when running is involved in the WOD. And I love knee socks… sigh!
Favorite WOD: Fight Gone Bad
Least Favorite WOD: Anything involving sprints or runs
My Crossfit Goals:
- To be an inspiring and motivating Coach.
- To complete the Girl WOD’s with all my pull-ups RX’d and become as kick-butt as my friend and co-worker CrossFit Six Coach SJP.
- To build my own personal CrossFit box behind my garage.
